Saturday Open Studios - a drop in art program for ages 3 - 10

This is a weekly drop-in program for children age 3 - 10! A great activity for young artists to explore and create with an array of art materials for a full 90 minutes! Children age 3 - 5 come from 10:30 - noon. Children age 6 - 10 come from 12:30 - 2pm. Artist Cheryl Robinson is an amazing teacher who encourages self expression and freedom in a safe and nurturing environment! Special thanks to College Bound Dorchester for the space! February Vacation Week - A Fantastical World for ages 3 - 10

Join teacher Cheryl Robinson for four full days of art making over February Vacation. Students will delve into a “World of Pure Imagination” as they look at art by the surrealists Chagall, Dali, Kahlo and Escher and explore their own ideas and dreams in large-scale drawings, paintings and collages. Our welcoming art studio, an atelier setting, is a vibrant space where students plan, design and create ambitious collaborative works. Texture, color, installation, space making, invention and immersion are the themes we will explore. Movement and storytelling are woven artfully into the class by our experienced, sensitive and inspiring artist/educator. This multi age level class will encourage students to stretch their imagination and discover tools and mediums for making a fantastical world come to life in their art. We hope to provide a rich, memorable and FUN experience for children and an opportunity for working families to explore our out of school time programs. All materials and snacks provided. Students bring their own lunch.
$240 for Four FULL days (ages 5 - 10) includes all materials and healthy snacks

The Children’s Studio for ages 3 - 5.

Register your child for Tuesday, Friday or Both! These will be 10 weeks of creativity and exploration with Dot Art’s well loved and experienced teachers Janet and Judy Shae. Held at our vibrant studio at the beautiful and historic Walter Baker Lofts in Lower Mills, students will paint, draw, build and play in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for a two hour class. All materials and snacks are provided. Scholarships and sliding scale are always available as well as second sibling discounts.
All classes take place at 1231 Adams Street in Lower Mills at the Walter Baker Artist Lofts (left side entrance).

Creating with Color - Paintings and Mosaics for ages 5 - 10.
With Liz Carney at The Little House in Savin Hill
10 Tuesdays in Spring, 3:45 - 5:45pm beginning March 3rd
Join us for this eight week COLORFUL art adventure in Painting and Mosaic Making to decorate our neighborhood streets! Beginning Tuesday March 3rd.
Students will learn concepts of color theory within the 2D disciplines of painting and mosaic making. We also consider carefully the difference between permanent and semi permanent public art. Students will get to design and build projects with canvas, brushes, acrylics glass, marbles, found materials and whimsical objects. We’ll install our mosaics in a surprising place in Dorchester to delight passerby’s with our color and creativity!

April Vacation Program - Art for the Neighborhood! ages 3 - 10.

Join teacher Cheryl Robinson for three full days of Springtime art making. We’ll make art for our neighborhood streets! Students will learn to plan, design and create ambitious, large-scale works of art to adorn the Dorchester landscape. In this multi age level class we will educate students about the importance of public art and also visit some of our neighborhood’s own notable public artworks. This program offers working families a fun, enriching and safe opportunity. All materials and snacks provided. Students bring their own lunch.

Summer Vacation Program for ages 5 - 10
Dot Art Camp! with Cheryl Robinson at The Little House in Savin Hill 275 East Cottage Street near JFK/UMass T
These intensive two-week Art Camps give children a chance to be immersed in creative exploration in a safe, nurturing environment. Choose a two week session in July or a two week session in August. Students will have a chance to sketch outdoors in our courtyard; warm up with movement and stretching; work on larger scale art projects in drawing, painting or sculpture; participate in dialogues about their work and build memories to last for many years. This program is two weeks per session and if possible, we will allow families to elect one week as soon as we have enough registrations. There is a 25% sibling discount and Scholarships and Sliding Scale options are always available! Students bring their own lunch and wear clothes to get messy in! Dot Art will provide all the materials and some healthy snacks. We are thrilled to be expanding our summer programs this year thanks to the volunteer efforts of many supporters.

We are pleased to provide after-school art classes with The Henderson School in Dorchester to provide quality after-school programming in the visual arts. Every Monday and Wednesday children from K2 - 4th grades honed their skills in drawing, painting and sculpture.
